Sunday Igboho Clarifies Rumors About Cats Killed in DSS Raid. In July 2021, the Department of State Services (DSS) raided the residence of Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho. Recent reports claimed that the DSS killed several cats during the raid, believing Igboho had transformed into one to escape.
Igboho has spoken out, clarifying the incident and setting the record straight. He confirmed that some of his beloved cats were indeed killed during the raid, but it was due to the indiscriminate gunfire of DSS officers, not any supernatural transformation.
“Some cats were indeed killed during the attack,” Igboho said in an interview. “The DSS just kept firing bullets everywhere. I had many cats as pets; any movement attracted their gunfire.”
He firmly denied the rumors of turning into a cat, emphasizing that the raid was a brutal attempt to capture or kill him. “Their mission was clear: either kill me or arrest me and take me to some unknown location,” he explained. “But God is greater than anyone. My God and providence put them to shame with that illegal raid. They failed to achieve what they came for.”
Igboho’s statement adds to the growing concerns regarding the tactics employed by the DSS during the raid. The ECOWAS Court of Justice recently ruled in favor of Igboho, ordering the Benin Republic government to pay him compensation for the incident.
Having regained his freedom and reunited with his family in Germany, Igboho continues to fight for the rights of the Yoruba people. His story reminds us of the importance of justice and the courage it takes to stand up for what you believe in.
