“EFCC and CSOs Collaborate to Promote Transparency and Accountability in Nigeria”
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Nigeria have come together to promote transparency and accountability in the country. The head of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, recently spoke to CSOs in Abuja, urging them to join forces with the EFCC in the fight against economic and financial crimes and corruption.
Olukoyede emphasized the importance of accountability and supporting anti-corruption initiatives. He reminded the CSOs of their responsibility to the nation and their role in the public’s eyes. He also highlighted that most of the petitions that come to the EFCC and other anti-corruption agencies are received from CSOs.
Olukoyede outlined his three-pronged agenda for the EFCC, which includes focusing on anti-corruption efforts, maintaining professionalism, and adhering strictly to the rule of law. He called on CSOs to collaborate with the EFCC in its mission to promote transparency and accountability in Nigeria.
The partnership between the EFCC and CSOs is a positive step towards promoting transparency and accountability in Nigeria. With the public’s eyes on the prize, the EFCC and CSOs can work together to eliminate economic and financial crimes and corruption and promote a more just and equitable society.
